more stuff!

Thanks to Selina I am now the proud owner of World of CrossStitching issue 107 with Tatty! With the Ballerina! AND a pansy alphabet! Whoo hoo!
She also sent me a fuzzy Friendship Exchange Card. Very cool!

And My Floss Adoptee from Mexico sent me Celtic Spring! WOW! She is gorgeous and purple!

Speaking of the card exchange I keep forgetting to take pics of the cards I make! But, if you go to Selina's blog you'll see the Tatty I drew for her on her card. I was going to use the watercolor pencils I am borrowing) and color it, but I realized it was more like Tatty to remain the simple sort of grey and left it as is. And to be honest the first sketch on reg paper was better then the card paper as it has these bumpy line thingies.

almost forgot to brag!

Mother's Day 2006 with "Happy Mother's Day" wishes and hugs all weekend long, all of these goodies and DH made chocolate covered strawberries, walnuts and green apples (try it, it is really good!) by hand all by himself.
The pink rose is from my daughter and the yellow from my son. It was great.

WIP

Shocker folks, here's a WIP!Peaches from the free kit in the Quick and Easy February issue 136.
And lucky thing too that I had started this as I found out I am invited to a baby shower for a little baby girl. I received the invitation and my first thought was "I don't have time", but I had already started this and it'll make a nice card or something I think.

Today's SBQ was suggested by Jenna (http://www.jennamagee.com/weblog/)
and is:

Lately, it seems that many stitching bloggers have experienced a loss of their stitching mojo. Have you ever lost your stitching mojo?
If so, how did you get it back and how long did it take?

Yes I have many times. It has taken all different lengths of time for it to return. The longest was when my first child was born, that lasted until my second was about 3 - I think. I just had different priorities and didn't get my mojo back until I "missed it". And then I dove in further than I ever had before. That time I just snapped out of it.
Other times I have lost it and found other hobbies to keep my busy- case in point: The last 2 weeks I was winding threads, and then it left as quick as it came. Last night I finished the needleroll (to be washed, pressed and done).
I stitch as long as it makes me happy and relaxed.

More about the NEW threads

Yes, even more about the color variations including tips and tricks and color cards... Enjoy

MAGS!

Both of my subscriptions (WOCS and CS) arrived at the same time! So happy!

bllinkie blast

~How'd you all like the blinkie blast? I can see why so many of the tutorials mention better software. I start to tweek and the image blurs no matter what I do. Stubborn me.~

Update on a Needleroll WIP, backstiched.
Now to wash and press and finalize it. Yipee!
Hey I am only about 3 months behind everyone else! Note to self- never, ever join another stitch exchange. Stick with buying!!!

Color Variations

Okay, having never even really tried the variegated I am absolutely intrigued by these. But I will not order them blindly as Michaels and AC Moore will have them I am assuming pretty soon.
And for those wondering what I am talking about here are some examples, with free patterns too of course for you to take a look.

A New/Old Shop I ran across a link today - Anyone ordered through them before? In particular this, that, and the new color variations are what caught my eye.

Today's SBQ is:

When you stitch from a kit and use the supplied floss do you have
leftovers? If so, how much and what do you do with them? If not, do
you usually have just enough or do you have to dig into your stash to
finish?

I have had leftovers from pretty small kits and by not knowing the "real number" (if any), or having much anyways I just toss it.
Running out? Ah yes, Ariel. I have run out before- and it was a not-so-good place to run out as it was her hair, a very dominate place to notice off colors. I managed to find a somewhat match and finish her after a trip to the craft store just for it! But I am still not too pleased with it as it was a large area and if you look close, you can tell. As the sheen is different as well.

So how do you all like the new look? I think it is a little more "me" now. A little more personal.

Today's SBQ is:

SBQ Do you or have you stitched with over-dyed threads? (Weeks Dye Works,
The Gentle Art Sampler Threads, Six Strand Sweets, etc.) If so, what is
your opinion concerning them? If not, why not?
~Afraid I haven't yet. I have a little on hand from a RAK and in very nice colors too! But I haven't found exactly what would be worthy of them yet! They are soooo nice looking.
I am sure once I do use them I will be stash stocking like mad!

More about Charms and Beads

Okay, so how do you store them? I want to keep them in their little packages (I just like the little packages, don't ask me why!) But I would like to get them out of the container(s) I use for my threads. I have considered a little drawer type device but a chest type thing may work better as far as space, and price. Those little teeny tiny zipper bags would probably be my worst option - clutzy me.
So what do you use, if anything?

my first JN

I have just "discovered" Just Nan. I have seen the designs many, many times but have for some reason been bitten by it just recently. Isn't this beautiful? I LOVE pansies and just thought this was great! And it came with the beads and charms needed to complete it *sweet*

Tease

not to tease another person(Outi) but I have a new pattern of a wolf. I want to get the similar styled tiger pattern and see about a bookmark set, maybe more.
