Stitch Shock

Well I will bore you all with pictures, sorry, but this is too good to be true for me still. It was difficult to take the mail out of the box as I had 3 stitchy envelopes!

Thank you Ami!
Ami sent me a "package" and yes that's all she would tell me! Ask DH, surprises and I do not mix well. Once I get a slight inkling I have to know, and I don't stop until I do know! The "package" : Mad Blue Bird kit by Bucilla. I have been drooling over hers when it was a WIP and I couldn't find it at Michaels or AC Moore.. Now, IT'S MINE! (evil laugh)

Thank you Dorothy!
My Tiny Needleroll came today, all the way from Australia! And I love it! Popcorn bear holding a large red heart, with hearts along the top and bottom. It is so beautiful!
(The kids thought it was neat too- because it has stuff inside of it.)
I can't decide yet the best place to hang it....

Thank you Gwen!

My Cross Stitch Collection issue April 2006 came today , this is the issue with the Teresa Wentzler's "Castle Sampler" and "Rapunzel". I am sending threads to her in exchange.

Happy, happy day!

personality awareness

uh oh. What personality?
It has been a while since I participated in kitters Johari. As I am quite curious how other perceive me. Maybe... down the road... I'll do the other one, with more negative traits. ~ Maybe!
So go on, it takes less than a minute to tell me what you think at my Johari

reviews

it's a done deal then- the first of what may become many
Cross Stitch Fairies
ISBN 0 7153 1946 9
publ : David and Charles
claims 50 patterns but I see some are of the same design with the pattern a mirror image and with a few color changes.
I was kind of disappointed but I think my expectations were too high.

Lots of quick stitches I think and they are flexible. Could be easily adapted to cards.

  • Fairy Alphabet (published in WOCS issue-see pic)
  • Garden Fairies (don't like the sampler but will do the fairies one by one, nice for cards I think)
  • Birthday Fairies (cute)
  • Fairy Princess (COVER picture)
  • Nursey Fairies (may or may not)
  • Fairy Godmother (I do not like at all , too country for my taste)
  • Fairy Seasons (cute)
  • Fairy Silhouettes (nice)

Was it worth it for me, well yes- it was FREE!

book reviews...

Being that I love books especially the stitchy types, kitters' blog got me thinking....

I own many and have been thinking of adding more.
So why not do reviews?
The set up, clarity, patterns themselves (who hasn't been dieing for a pattern book to get it home and say "Oh, that's it?")
I was thinking for books and booklets. And hopefully others will do the same.
I am still trying to update the inventory of what I own stash wise- threads, fabrics, mags, books and on and on... I think I would start with the ones I most recently bought and work backwards somewhat. As I am most excited about those of course.
Any thoughts?

5 Things That Made me Happy

  2. May have the remainder of my hospital bill taken care of. (whew?)
  3. I am a day away from completing my income taxes= money ($$$) back. Hopefully done today.
  4. February vacation, so I can get lots in with Accounting homework and additional I need the practice work as well. Plus all the extra unscheduled time with the kids...
  5. My fellow stitch addicted friends ;) (you know who you are)

This weekend was good!
My pattern booklets, for a deal, arrived Saturday and in beautiful condition! Fat Flakes which I have been longing for for sometime, and Stoney Creeks Friends of Nature came!!!! The first as mentioned may become ornaments or the like the second one- is purely for me! I have longed to have this one for years and as having only seen it as a kit -thus way out of reach for me. I am so very happy to have it here with me!
Extra good news my order from Amazon came (gift certificate folks- I am not rich here!) Picture Your Pets in Cross Stitch, oodles of quick stitches! Over the moon with stitchy stash!
....Now to see how far I can get my Patternsonline gift cert to stretch......
Shall I splurge and get a whole year of Animal babies? Or maybe a StoneyCreek or two? Maybe a stitch devil???? Oh decisions, decisions......
