Oh, you've gotta' see this!

Has anyone else seen this "Focus on Finishing" blog?

Oh.

My.

It could take me hours to really "see" everything.

Heart health

Thank you Tracy for posting about the Go Red For Women this Friday!
As quoted by the awareness website:
"Everyone can support the fight against heart disease in women by wearing red on National Wear Red Day, Friday, February 1, 2008. It's a simple, powerful way to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke. "

...pass it on!

flossbox findings

One word,wow.
Emily, of The Flossbox, (a site with tons of interesting info and wonderful free patterns) posted about a comparison she did of a few crafts such as cross stitch, knitting, crochet, scrapbooking and more to see what people are really doing for crafts.
The results are so interesting.

American Bittern

We have had this bird in our yard for 3 days now..... I have seen it fly once, it's wings are gorgeous!
We couldn't figure out what it was. Well, we have confirmation from a neighbor (who is very well educated with animals) that it is a Bittern. According to the MaineBirding site I think it is the American Bittern. My neighbor said it's very unusual that it's in my yard as they are normally very secretive animals. They live in marshes and swamp areas.
It's been eating worms I think pretty steadily here....
I love birds.

another mental challenge

I was searching for a map for my son for his homework assignment (poor guy has been home all week and is trying to chip at homework) and came across this World Map Game.
Good luck! I got only 2 or 3, and most of the countries I have never heard of!

October

I am looking ahead, into next month as to what October has for Awareness events. It frustrates me that the focus is always just about
breast cancer, when they are so many others to highlight as well. So here's a few other ones to share.
Screening for Mental Health
Down's Syndrome
Lupus with another link to check out as well- blogger.
And for bracelets marking awareness this looks pretty neat.

mental exercise

Now, for a little mental exercise you can Place the States on a US map. Geography is not my thing, and here's the proof!
