Not much...

Not much to tell today-
I have received my name for the Tiny Needleroll Exchange :] at LinaBear. Now to see about the pattern and go from there... (nervous)
An unsent fabrics order at eBay may be straightened out, we'll see what happens in the next few days. Simply put- if they come or not. They were supposed to be here a month ago!

"FRIENDS OF NATURE" * STONEY CREEK & "FAT FLAKES"
And good news, 2 new patterns will be added to my stash! Just got word they are going in the mail- what a deal too! Honestly I bought them for myself, may get a project or 2 stitched for someone else... maybe!

Red Fabric at last! Arrived!

My red fabric came today! An 8x10 piece of 28ct victorian red laguna. Very pretty! Hoping to be able to get at least 2 Christmas ornaments out of it. Well, with careful planning! Frosty may have to go on it if I don't have any luck with the royal blue- which I have only found either in afghan form, 14 ct or someone calling it royal blue when it's actually more of a Navy blue.. Royal blue is my sister's favorite, therefore royal blue it is! Long time till Christmas thankfully
No Secret Pal Exchange mailed today~ but will be on the first thing to do list for tomorrow!

And I think I have made Outi's day-the patterns I ordered on her behalf arrived!

Tiny Needleroll Exchange 2006

Notice the title to the exchange- Whew!
Glutton for punishment that I am, I have signed up for a Needleroll Exchange. Despite the fact that I have never made one!
"The sign up ends on the 31st January, and the send out date will be week of the 27th March"
I won't post any pics until after the recipient receives it~ wouldn't want to ruin the surprise! The one most surprised will probably be me... I could stitch all day long. It's the finishing I hate!Washing, pressing, blah, blah, blah. Once I have stitched it , it's out of my mind and I am ready to begin something new.
Anyone else like that?

Not impressed

The new, or old new, Cross-Stitch & Needlework came in yesterday. I was subscribed to Stitcher's World and liking it pretty well. But this. I don't know if I'll renew. I guess the original name years ago was Cross Stitch & Country Crafts, then Cross-Stitch & Needlework, then with mags stopping and starting with mergers and such.. Eventually Stitcher's World came in.
I was really getting into Stitcher's World. :(

Secret Pal Exchange

I have signed up for my very first Secret Pal Exchange!
..."You will receive your partners name on January 22nd and you have until February 6th to send out your package"....
I am very excited and trying to resist the urge to start buying right now! I think it would be best to know who I am gathering for and see what she would like. I think I can snoop around her gallery and see what she typically does and uses and I can even search through all the other posts to find out what she may have mentioned wanting.... Sneeky, sneeky me! Hee! hee!
What a great pick-me-up to battle the winter blahs! :) it would be ironic if I got one of my floss adoptees!

Red Fabric At Last!

I have ordered red fabric through eBay, and for a good price too. Seems as if it is either in very high demand or not made much, at any rate, it'll be on it's way for me for next years' ornaments. I have come to a decision- make them early! And to anyone who sees things "in the making", feign surprise when you open it at Christmas next year!
Next Item I will need: Royal Blue, preferably 28 ct if I can.... will settle for 16 or 18ct.
Michaels and AC Moore have pretty good selections of fabrics, red in 14 ct (No!), green in 14ct (Another NO!). For Christmas items I want 16ct or higher, for a better looking finish and to be able to put a larger more detailed pattern onto a smaller ornament.

My birthstone, garnet, and a gift from my Dad and Stepmom.... Isn't it beautiful? I had tried to place this picture along the side of the blog with no success. I hope to figure it out eventually.

Floss Moms

I am a floss mom, which means I buy threads for other people say in Finland, Sweden, the UK, etc. They in turn send me thing that I either can't get or it costs a bunch to get here in the U.S. Here is an example, from M, my new adoptee. Love the patterns inside as they are loaded with them! The US mags just can't compare to them... Most of the overseas mags contain more patterns, and freebies too like kits, organizers and other little stitch goodies! One sent from Outi had a Stitchers Diary with it. Very cute.

Silkweavers!

check out \/ the metallic one here
Fabrics!
Using some money I received for Christmas I managed to get my first Silkweavers fabrics! Being Stash-Paks, the red I had wanted to be included- wasn't. But they are still beautiful and a few are 32ct, which will be a new thing for me. They were sent pretty quickly, being ordered over the New Years Holiday and all. I love mail!

Now I am 30

Well, in about 20 minutes I will be! I thought as a kid I would never be this age. "Old" and yet I don't feel it. Now I have a strong sense of who I am, what I want and where I'm going- well an overall direction anyways. Goals for the new year are the same as last.. Be happy. Spend time with loved ones. And enjoy. Simple really... I have been looking forward to this day really. Been sort of proud- don't ask me why! Now I get to check off the next box in line on forms... Whoopee!

This is Fred. My WIP for the LinaBear SAL. Put on hold for Christmas stitching, shopping and such. School isn't starting back up until later this month and I hope to get him complete before then.
July Amethyst Fairy is added to my to-dos. Having never seen the patterns in-person before I am very interested and a bit intimidated. I know she'll be a long WIP. One that I do while doing others as well. To break things up a bit.
And the EMS Silhouettes II SAL is beginning this week as well. Now to see about which fabric! Just need to measure up the 28ct evenweave I have on hand and see if it'll fit. Still unsure if I am doing a bellpull type format or another.

No Matter Where You Go, There You Are!

My palace, my dumping ground so to speak. To wonder, relate and stumble through. Enjoy!
