more to love

I placed my first Paypal order online through needlework plus for Estaz threads and a "few" of the rayons "just because". I have had the ballerinas for some time. I had been just waiting to get the Estaz threads to go with it. No sense to start without knowing what I would have for the finishing tu-tu, geting colors to go together and things. All I could find for ages were colors like gold and pardon the expression, but, "Blechk!"
The rayons may give it that more realistic leotard look too. Plus they are sort of shiny and me likes the shine!
I plan to make one for my daughter's room. She can pick out the colors she wants. I am guessing a blonde, blue eyed girl, because that's what she is. But who knows. She seems to be leaning towards green for the outfit so far.
Depending how that one goes, and how long it takes, I may make some more ballerina girls.

Now about the glasses......
My glasses, which I loved and have had for oh maybe 4+ years (I never really keep track of that you know ), bit the dust last night. I now have one armed glasses. Precariously perched on my face. And my planned appointment to get glasses (which I was going to make even before these broke) just now I have to hurry things up a bit, 'cause you know appointment first at the eye doctor which I don't remember who I had except for the last guy which I didn't like. So it's more of who I had before him. So I managed to get into a new Dr. today, 3 hours before said appointment (gotta love cancellations). Now I am shopping for specs. (insert cough, choke and sputter here over the price) The final place I have a coupon for wasn't open today. So I will call first to make sure they are and hop on over tomorrow morning. Wish me luck. I may look like the new old me!
How's this for strange? I am not as nearsighted, but my astigmatisms are worse.

Hmm, I pick up my new glasses this Friday - I choked on the price!! (I have asked Ian to insure them!) I now have multi-focals - that will be interesting to get used to.

Oddly my asigmatism has never changed. How does it effect your stitching? I find evenweave really hard to work on.

The astigmatisms do effect my stitching a bit, as it does most everything I do. Esp if I get tired. It can make things jump around a bit (making counting difficult at times) , but if I get bad I just put it away and start again when I have had some rest.
Will you post a pic with your new glasses Coral? (I won't ;) )

I know, glasses are awful, aren't they? It's highway robbery! And I get the special anti-glare, scratch-resistant coating, thin lenses, etc., so it usually runs me nearly $500 for a pair. Eeek!

Yup, I've been shopping for glasses too - and I won't tell anyone the price or you'll be so shocked you'll NEVER want to come to Europe... ;)
Strangely, the same thing's been happening to my eyes - less nearsighted, more astigmatism. Something to do with our old age, Angela? :p

I'm a contact girl myself, but I always keep a pair of glasses as backup because on lazy days I don't bother with my contacts and only slip on the glasses when I want to watch tv. Glasses are soooo expensive to maintain.

btw..I like the ballerinas. :) I've got a soft spot for them since I studied dance for so long back in the care free days of my youth. :P
